Oteghe Brother's Union Dance Band Of Ugo Niyekorhion
The Edo highlife band shot into Stardom with their unique blend of contemporary music and highlife in the 70s. Their music was entertaining while addressing serious issues in society. They wrote their lyrics as a form of story, imbibing lessons. Their Album, Emotan, was a hit, played by radio stations consistently.
Their songs include “omwon-nimwonna”, “Abaiwiyoro”, “ Oteghe Union, and their most famous song, “ Abuokhae”. Unable to keep his eyes off her, he enticed her with money, encouraging her to leave her husband. The woman divorced her husband and moved in with Abuokhae immediately.
