Bayo Ade & His Super Miliki Sound
Bayo Ade, born Omoregbe Okpenyen was a Nigerian musician renowned for his contributions to the juju music genre alongside his band Bayo Ade & His Super Miliki Sound. The Edo state native operated out of Benin City, Edo State and became a national sensation during the 1980s. In 1985, they released the hall of fame album “Dem Go Tire” which features evergreen records such as “Iya Ni Wurs” and “Dem Go Tire.”
The group name “Miliki” reflects a pristine brand of juju music that opts for a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere and is usually associated with social enjoyment. Bayo Ade’s music was popular and celebrated for its rhythmic nature and cultural significance. Records like ‘Omosefe’, ‘Gbe Mi Le Se’, and ‘Ma Jo Bi Okoto’ off his 1987 album ‘Where We Day Go’
Bayo Ade’s style is characterized by its unique blend of traditional Yoruba music and modern influences.
